The F.A.M.E. Team Semi Finals were a dazzling display of creativity, skill and talent, as the 8 finalists were revealed at the end of an amazing day.
The event took place at Loft Studios, London, where 14 contestants arrived prepared for a full day of challenges. They were greeted by F.A.M.E. Team Leader Sally Brooks and Fellowship Chancellor, Karoliina Saunders, who introduced a new twist to the usual format.
The first challenge was a 15-minute surprise, where the contestants had to create a look of their choice using only 3 products. The atmosphere was electric as each contestant expressed their own vision and style. A select group of industry experts judged the looks, including Robert Masciave, Kathryn Dartnell, Sam Burnett, Errol Douglas MBE, Alastair Jubbs, Jacqui McIntosh, Lisa Farrall and Adam Reed.
The second challenge was to create their signature look on their first model. The contestants had to showcase their personal identity and hairdressing experience through a cut, colour or styling look. The judges mingled with the contestants and observed their techniques and results. After the practical task, each stylist presented their model and mood board to the judges, explaining their inspiration and process. The judges asked each stylist about their career, creativity and Fellowship journey.
The third and final challenge was to create something extraordinary that would highlight their creativity and skills. The contestants impressed everyone with their innovative and diverse looks, ranging from rockstar mullets to vivid colours and colour-changing effects. This was a remarkable challenge that pushed the contestants to their limits.
To conclude the judging part, the contestants were divided into groups and asked to create a showcase for the evening guests. Each group came up with a narrative theme, a model routine and a wow factor for the audience.
The evening session was full of anticipation as Fellowship President Robert Eaton and Vice President Ashleigh Hodges welcomed the guests to the official Semi-Finals. They gave an overview of what the contestants had done during the day and what to expect from the showcases. The four groups delivered outstanding shows that were original, creative and memorable. The showcases received loud cheers and applause from the audience.
The showcases were followed by interviews with former F.A.M.E. Team members including Alastair Jubbs, Jake Unger and Lydia Wolfe as well as current F.A.M.E. Team 2023 Edd Moss, Steph Gallagher, James Parr and Stacey Wright.
After a day of inspiration and excitement, it was time to announce the finalists. The final 8 will now compete in the F.A.M.E. Team finals on the 23rd October 2023 at Loft Studios.
