On November 12, O&M transformed Sydney’s Carriageworks into a vibrant hub of creativity and education with the Made For Originals event, with 550 attendees celebrating learning, collaboration, and the essence of the O&M brand. Founder Jose Bryce Smith described it as a “masterclass in the art and science of hair colouring.”
The festival-style event featured DJ beats, coffee carts, styling stations, and real-time colour transformations by top artists among other creative activities to create a dynamic, unique, exciting atmosphere.
Focusing on providing fun educational activities, the day’s agenda was lined with real-time colour transformations led by five internationally recognized artists, Jaye Edwards, Amelia Jane, Kim Haberley, Kirsty Anne Sage & Becc Snow, who each brought their own unique perspective to the stage.
O&M’s Sydney Carriageworks TakeoverCelebrity hairdresser Natalie Anne brought education to the mainstage as well as conducting a styling session of her own. Finally, a Q&A with brand founder, Jose Bryce-Smith, international guest Tia Lambourn from the UK, and the educators took place before ending the day with a drinks reception.
Gary Prigge, O&M Global Educator, commented, “The groundbreaking O&M Made for Originals event marked an industry milestone and stands as the largest undertaking by O&M to date. Featuring Australia’s top hairdressers, it set a new standard. More than just an event, it evolved into a celebration of like-minded individuals seeking empowerment through education and genuine connections.”
Tia Lambourn commented “To say this was the first year and the first Made for Originals event I can’t wait to watch it change and grow over the years and I hope to be lucky enough to take part in the years to come. The day before the event we went to the venue to do a run through with all the educators that were taking part and seeing how the O&M team was coordinating the lay out of the day was such a buzz I can’t even begin to describe it. The day itself was absolutely incredible you could really see how much work had been done behind the scenes to make sure that it was a fully immersive educational day giving as much as possible. As a lover of education myself you were absolutely spoilt for choice with five educators to learn from showcasing their favourite colours, products and more. Jose had asked if I would take part in the panel as a guest, and I was honoured to play a small role in an incredible day. I loved that this event showcased individuality by offering something for everyone.”
