It’s been a fantastic start to the month of May for the Clubstar Art Team and Project X teams who have been keeping busy at the latest Project Team Days and with the Project Colour Team being involved with a two-day photoshoot.
Clubstar Art Team
Clubstar Art Team spent the day with award-winning hair extension specialist and educator, Owner of Loxbox Extensions and Fellowship Chair, Michelle Griffin at her salon Griffins just outside of Birmingham to learn more about Loxbox Extensions, including how they can be used to help people suffering hair loss and want to feel more confident and how they can be used to enhance hair looks for photoshoots.
Clubstar Art Team Member, Phoebe Carraro, said:
“We had a fantastic day spent with Michelle Griffin. We learnt the history behind LoxBox hair extensions and Michelle told us about her passion for helping people who are suffering from hair loss. It was truly inspiring and has given me a unique insight into another world of hairdressing, Michelle was so genuine and passionate about wanting to help people feel better about themselves and their hair – physical and emotionally – it is a sincerely rewarding part of hairdressing. We were also able to take our education a step further where we learnt about using tape hair extensions in creative ways to enhance looks for photoshoots – some really remarkable ideas that are so clever and effective. This will definitely have a large influence in helping us for our photoshoot days coming up! Thank you so much Michelle!”

Project X
The Project X team spent the day with Celebrity Hairdresser Jay Birmingham at SE1 Studios, who travels the world to work with famous clients. The team had a hands-on day learning session work and red carpet looks from Jay’s extensive portfolio and also gained some great insight into how reaching out to different influencers can help to gain a larger following.
Project X Team Member, Annie Franklin, commented:
“We had the brilliant opportunity to have an exclusive day with celebrity hairdresser Jay Birmingham. He taught us one of his iconic red carpet looks step by step. Showing us how to prep, which products to use and also the importance of dressing out.”

Project Colour
The Project Colour Team were thrilled to spend their day with Christel Barron-Hough, Founder & Creative Director of STIL, Alex Barron-Hough, Award-Winning Photographer and Angela Vallillo, Style Director of STIL taking part in a photoshoot. The shoot was over two days, with prep day on the Sunday at STIL Salon in London, followed by the photoshoot on the Monday at the prestigious ‘The Library Space’ in London, made possible by Anthony Mascolo.
The team got to experience Christel and Alex’s creative process and watch how things unfold on shoot day. They were taught a number of tips and tricks from Angelo and gained invaluable experience and guidance on the processes of a photoshoot and bringing inspiration to life.

“What an amazing experience to meet such influential and talented people within the industry and to be welcomed into Christel and Alex’s stunning salon. Watching Christel, Alex and Angelo bring their visions to life was inspirational. As someone that hasn’t worked on a shoot before to then witness in person a shoot of that calibre, I can only say thank-you to Fellowship for making that possible. There were many tips and tricks I picked up that I can’t wait to try out for myself. I do want to say a massive thank you, however, to Daniel who continues to work so hard to support us, I feel truly fortunate to have him as team leader this year.”
