From Florence Pugh’s gentle waves to Zendaya’s sleek and polished bob and America Ferrera’s luscious curl. My personal favourite had to be Sydney Sweeney’s effortless, textured bob! These celebrities proved that this versatile style is here to stay and can be tailored to suit any individual’s unique personality and aesthetic.

The hair trend has gained popularity once again, after it was outshone by its sister – the middle part. The versatility of this style is endless – from Greta Lee’s slicked-back side part to Jennifer Lawrence’s long side-parted hair. But my personal favourite was Zendaya’s chic side-parted bob, evoking true Hollywood glamour!”

People often shy away from this style as they often feel ‘naked’ without their hair, but the versatility of this style means it can be personalised to suit the wearer’s face shape. This timeless style exudes elegance and when done correctly, accentuates the face’s features. From Gabrielle Union’s topknot to Laverne Cox and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s messier buns, I think we’ll see more and more celebrities sporting high buns in 2024!”

One of my favourite hair looks from year’s Oscars was from Hailee Steinfield. Hailee wore her hair slicked back in a beautiful low slung braided bun paired with a deep side parting. This is such an understated look that does not take long to create but when done right, looks chic, sophisticated and polished. When creating this look the hair products used are key, as you want the hair to have as much lustre as possible with no frizz or flyaways. To create this look, I would firstly start by creating the deep side parting and applying ALTERNA Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Leave-In Smoothing Gelee distributing this through the front section of the hair to secure the side parting in place and ensuring the hair is smooth with no flyaways before securing the hair in a ponytail at the nape of the neck. I would then mix ALTERNA Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Leave-In Smoothing Gelee with ALTERNA Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture CC Cream and apply this through the ponytail before going in to create your braid, as these products are perfect for clean braiding and will also give the bun added hold alongside sleekness and shine. Section your ponytail and create your braid before pinning into place with hair pins.

Opting for something a little different, Heidi went for a wet look, slicked back style, working perfectly with her deep gold gown. In order to make this much more modern, the hair replicated a real wet look, with the use of a wet look gel and texture to recreate what is very much a trending style. In order to recreate this style, prep is key. Ensure the hair is well conditioned and full of health wherever possible. I would recommend the Goldwell Rich Repair Shampoo and Conditioner to really fill the hair with nourishment. Next, brush the hair back towards the crown are, creating the slick style. Once prepped, you want to use a mousse in order to give that ‘wet’ look and feel – distribute this throughout the hair from the hairline at the front, back towards the crown and through to the ends. Don’t overdo this, work it into the hair until you feel you have got this look perfected. Next, it’s all about keeping the style in place! I would recommend the Goldwell Creative Texture Crystal Turn – perfect for holding the look in place for the required duration whilst aiding the wet look feel!
