The Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Project Extend Team were thrilled to spend their October Team Day with Ruka Hair at the Sandy Wood Hair Specialists Salon in Essex.
The day focused on working with different textures and attachment methods with the team being provided with a real insight into how to correctly manage and care for Afro hair, including how to avoid the hair from matting and the importance of scalp care.
Commenting on the day, Project Extend Team Member, Lucy Melvin, said “I found the day very beneficial and educational. We learnt about the importance of looking after Afro hair and had a hands-on session where we washed and blow-dried afro hair, preparing the hair for hair extensions. We also went over the importance of the heat level that is used on the hair and on different curls. It was a fantastic day, and I can’t wait to use my new skills in the salon.”
