Rainbow Room International, Scotland’s largest salon group, hosted a night to remember at their 36th Annual Congress, held at the prestigious Òran Mór in Glasgow. With all eleven salons in attendance, the event was a testament to the group’s continued success and dedication to excellence in the hairdressing industry.
The evening began with a touch of elegance, as guests were greeted with champagne and the soothing sounds of live jazz music. The relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect setting for team members to catch up and celebrate their achievements over the past year. As the night progressed, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal, setting the stage for the highly anticipated awards ceremony.
Alan Stewart, Co-Founder of Rainbow Room International, took to the stage to welcome guests and express his gratitude for their hard work and dedication. He also highlighted the challenge faced by the judging panel in selecting winners due to the exceptionally high standard of talent and commitment across all salons.
Recognising Excellence in Hairdressing
The awards ceremony celebrated the crème de la crème of Rainbow Room International, with accolades spanning various categories. Stylists were recognised for their commitment to self-improvement, client care, technical skills, and social media impact. Among the most prestigious awards were the Fantastic Hairdresser Award and Salon Team of the Year.
In line with the brand’s ethos of continuous improvement, gold, silver, and bronze awards were presented, reflecting both Western-style achievement recognition and the Eastern philosophy of Kaizen. A particularly special moment was the Academy Graduation, celebrating the next generation of hairdressing talent and their entry into the industry.
Notable winners included Jodie Hall from Bearsden, who was honoured with the Fantastic Hairdresser of the Year award, and the Uddingston team, who took home the Salon Team of the Year award. Other winners included George Square for Reception Team of the Year, Gabby Craig for Academy Trainer of the Year, and Rachel MacDonald of Ayr for Stylist Promotional Video of the Year.

The festivities continued with live music from Groove Supply, led by Breck Stewart, son of co-founders Linda and Alan Stewart. The dance floor was alive with energy as salon teams celebrated their successes and looked forward to another year of growth and achievement.
