Fudge Professional collaborated with session stylist, Blake Henderson for a series of hair looks for the Daniel W Fletcher AW23 Show. Daniel W Fletchers collection consisted of 9 different suits, created in partnership with Huntsman Savile Row, who provided the tailoring for the collection.
The inspiration behind the hair looks: “hair was inspired by the sleek Teddy Boy hairstyles of the 1950’s but with a modern twist”, explains Blake.
The Teddy Boy style is also a big inspiration behind Fletchers collection and decision to partner with Huntsman Savile Row, as Savile Row were behind the initial Teddy Boy craze back in the 1950’s.
Blake used a variety of Fudge Professional styling products to create the Teddy Boy inspired look. Hair was combed back and slicked down with a generous helping of Fudge Professional Hair Shape . This was distributed evenly throughout the hair to provide the hair with extreme shine and hold. Hair was then diffused until the hair and product had completely set. Once slicked back, the hair was held in place using Fudge Professional Skyscraper. The hair was then finished with Fudge Professional Hed Shine Spray to ensure a slick, shiny finish.
For models with longer hair, the hair was split horizontally into two sections. The bottom half was tied back into a ponytail, secured with Fudge Professional Skyscraper. The top section was then sicked back, following the same method as the above. On other models, front framing pieces were twisted round into spirals and set into place on the models forehead using with Fudge Professional Skyscraper.
Whilst the Teddy Boy hairstyle is usually characterised by its high finish, the look Blake created was a modern interpretation of this, completed with twirled face framing pieces and shiny finish. This modern twist on a traditional hairstyle captured the essence of Fletchers collection, taking a traditional tailored suit making it for the modern day.
