My inspiration for the look was an industrial culture concept. Inspired by the colours of the ancient Mayans married together with an industrial feel of oxidised metal I feel this image shows a soft and strong look simultaneously!
The colour placement entirely compliments the haircut and vice versa. The Grey background really gives that industrial/metal vibe.
Firstly, the haircut was sectioned off in key areas where I wanted to keep out longer pieces or “tendrils”.
I then worked a tight crop haircut between these sections using a round graduation technique and disconnecting the fringe.
I then used a “Halving” technique where half of my tendril section was coloured using a light sliver and the other half coloured using either our Maya Jade colour or our Aztec Peach colour. This technique provides a seamless blend of tones.
