Stylist Claire Grech at Streeters and her team used Swedish vegan hair range Nine Yards to create the soft textured pinned up twist inspired by the 60s artist Eva Hesse at Bora Aksu’s show in this months London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter collection, with an audience that included Lady Amelia Windsor. We were delighted that Claire offered to share with our readers a detailed guide on recreating the look.

Claire says, “Firstly I prepped the hair with Go Large Volume Mousse and Easy Side Salt Spray, and then blow dried the hair with a flat bristle brush. This gave the hair hold and grip but still maintained the natural shine. We put in a soft centre parting, so it felt natural and not too strict.
“I went through the hair in sections and sprayed each one with a generous blast of Hands On Texturizing Spray, then backcombed each section – this will help you mould the hair into the shape later.
“Then we brushed through the hair and twisted the back up in a classic “French twist” technique securing the hair with large hair pins. It was very important that the hair covered the models’ ears.
“We moulded some Japanese hair padding into a sausage shape and then wrapped the left over ends of the hair around it and secured it just below the crown of the head, finishing with a final spray of hairspray.”
