It’s been a busy month for the Fellowship Project Teams as the ClubStar Art Team spent their Team Day with Former ClubStar Art Team Leader, Simon Tuckwell, Project Extend spent their day with Trichology Expert, Steven Goldsworthy and Project Sassoon spent their first team day with mentors, Sassoon’s very own, Kitty Latham and Pink Grubb.
ClubStar Art Team
The ClubStar Art Team travelled to Nottingham to spend the day at the award-winning salon, Tuckwell & Co with the Salon Director and ex F.A.M.E. Team Member and former ClubStar Art Team Project Leader, Simon Tuckwell, aka ‘The Heavy Metal Hairdresser’.
Simon commented: “The Fellowship is the reason I do what I do today. I’m forever grateful for the opportunities and lifelong friendships I made through the fellowship, so any chance to share my passion for this incredible industry means the world to me. Being a mentor to these incredibly talented hairdressers is something I really hold close to my heart.”
Becky Hare comments: “Our team day was a great start for the ClubStar Art Team. We spent the day learning and practicing wolf and alt cuts Simon created. A super relaxed environment which encouraged us to try out the new techniques we had learnt without worrying about anything. All of us for sure will be able to take the skills we learnt into the salon and apply them on models and clients.”

Project Extend
Project Extend spent their team day with Trichology Expert, Steven Goldsworthy, travelling to Goldsworthy’s in Swindon. Steven began his career over 30 years ago in his father’s salon. He quickly developed an interest in the science behind hair and recognised the demand for a hair and scalp specialist in the salon. Steven decided to study in the field of Trichology, being able to diagnose and offer treatments to anyone suffering from hair loss or thinning hair. The team were given insight into the Novo Cabelo, a hair system which specialising in tackling hair loss.
Jade Miles comments: “The day was completely inspirational! The use of the mini cabelo system totally blew me away! Stephen made it so easy to understand and I feel as a team we learnt so much. The afternoon consisted of an insight to trichology. The education and information was so valuable to learn! A great start to our year.”

Project Sassoon
Project Sassoon spent their first team day with project leaders, Kitty Latham, Sassoon Assistant Creative Director, Pink Grubb, Sassoon Colour Director at the new House of Sassoon in London. Pink and Kitty demonstrated three different looks, where the team learnt how to add texture and dimension to a solid looking shape, whilst also highlighting the importance of colour, when partnering this with the cut, to create perfect partnership.
Ellie Rider comments: “Our team day was an amazing new experience into to learning. We got to see how Kitty does disconnection to create texture, and how layers can create a thickness look to thinner hair type. Pink showed us some new exciting techniques. As a person who never really does colour, it’s definitely inspired me to want to learn more! The way he does random colour placement was exciting to see. And it was amazing to see everyone again, can’t wait for next month’s team day.”
