This programme places a strong emphasis on technical skills. You will study the following modules::Working in the hair industry*Follow Health and Safety practice in the salon*Client consultation for hair services*Shampooing and condition the hair and scalp*Promote produces and services in the salon*Cut Men’s hair*Cut facial hair*Colour and lighten hair*Styling Men’s hair*Create an image based on a theme within the hair sector*Display stock to promote sales in the salon*Provide scalp massage services*Salon reception dutiesUnderpinning knowledge As part of your timetable you will be required to work one evening a week in one of The College’s Salons, Flaunt Hair, as part of getting you work-ready. You will study Functional Skills in English or/and mathematics or GCSE in English and/or MathsThe course is designed to provide you with a good working knowledge of Barbering. It will enable you to develop a strong awareness of the industry. During the programme you will be required to take part in work experience in a local salon/barbers
